A Commentary On “Review & Outlook: Dollars to the European Rescue”
This editorial page has such influence in this country and throughout the world that if it continues to be concerned about European bank problems, this will probably turn the stock advice markets down for awhile, as will Greece’s eventual default. But where are U.S. investors going to make money? With the Fed continuing to force interest rates down for a long time, it appears the stock markets are the only places where there’s a chance to make some money. Maybe in gold for awhile, but when a chastened GOP takes complete control of the U.S. federal government in Year 2013, and solid growth finally begins, gold will almost certainly plunge in value. And who knows which direction black gold (aka oil) is heading from month to month? So the stock markets should have resilience, even in the latter days of the Age of Obama. Also, I don’t think you can tie employment to the stock markets.
