History of Locust Point

When looking at the Locust Point Real Estate you can see that there is a lot of history in the area.  in 1816 Locust Point was annexed to the City of Baltimore.  The first homes were believed to have been built between 1840 and 1850 and were two-story structures on Towson, Cuba and Clement Streets.  The guano, iron, brick, and rail and shipping industries began to build up after the Civil War which also brought the workers of these industries into the area.  Houses for the workers and their families began to fill up the surrounding areas near the main industrial area.  Locust Point has continued to grow and prosper into the neighborhood it is today.
