Carbohydrate in Food

The body gets its energy and other nutriments from foods that we eat. This is one the main reasons why it is extremely vital to eat foods that contain nutrients rather than the foods that contain a lot of added preservatives and sugars. Carbohydrate foods are an important part of the human diet. Carbohydrates provide the body with its main source of energy which is why it is essential to the biological processes of the body. Carbohydrates are made up of three different elements: sugar, starch and diet fiber. However, only the sugar and starch elements actually provide the body with energy and the body cannot digest fiber. Nonetheless, this fiber is essential to keeping the bowels of the body clean so it should still be eaten.
