Air quality and health! part II

Absolute humidityis all of the water vapor that may becontained in the air at a given temperature.Relative humidityisthe difference between the amount of water vapor that must becontained in the air at a given temperature to reach absolutesaturation and the amount actually contained in the air at that sametemperature. If the relative humidity of the air in a room becomes as high as85% the moisture will begin to condense and form on the wallsand objects. Thismakes the room damp andinterferes with theventilating and heating of the room. There is less water vapor contained in the air at high altitudes, the air being cooler. A large amount of rainfall does notnecessarily produce an increase in the relative humidity. That is tosay, a country with a very high average of rainfall is notnecessarily a damp country so far as the atmosphere is concerned.
